 is a populated place in Whitman County, Washington. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place.

History Edit

A post office called Almota was established in 1878, and remained in operation until 1961. The community took its name from Almota Creek. Today there is no town, but a grain port along the Snake River. The grain silo and port are owned by the Port of Whitman.

Geography Edit

Almota is located on the northern bank of the Snake River. Union Center, Ewartsville, and Pullman are east of Almota. Colfax is north. Swift and Penawawa are west and Illia and Mayview are south. Pomeroy is southwest.
