Sandy Point is a community in Whatcom County, Washington, within the Lummi Reservation.
The Sandy Point Community is home to over 700 inhabitants. The homes within the community are a mix of a vacation homes and full time homes.
The Sandy Point Improvement Company is the organization that manages the community.
A clubhouse located next to the golf course is equipped with a large outdoor pool that is heated and open during the summer months, with a playground and basketball hoop across the street.
Geography[]
Sandy Point is located within the Lummi Reservation, south of Neptune Beach, and west of Bellingham. The community of located mostly on a natural spit of land known as the Sandy Point Arm.
History []
Years ago a system of canals were developed that zigzag through the small peninsula, and now homeowners moor their boats and yachts right in their front yards.
In 1970, a golf course was built.
Marina[]
The Sandy Point Improvement Company HOA operates a marina at the north end of the harbor and canals. The marina is equipped with a boat ramp and a fuel dock, and provides moorage for about 70 vessels. The other marina is a private condo marina.
Sandy Point has a community yacht club that plans a full calendar of community events.
