Penrith is an unincorporated community in Pend Oreille County, Washington. It is mostly rural residential, with some agriculture. US Highway 2 runs just north of the town. Newport is located north, Idaho to the east, Tweedie to the south, and Diamond Lake to the west.
The community was established and named by railroad officials who gave it the name Penrith. A post office called Penrith was established in 1901, and remained in operation until 1916.
