A Sherman homestead.

, is a small community in Lincoln County, Washington. The community is north of Wilbur and Creston.

History Edit

Sherman grew thanks to an agricultural boom of the 1880s and 1890s, spawned by the federal government's many homesteading acts. As the price of wheat fell, the average farm size increased, and better vehicles and roads made traveling easier, and Sherman was abandoned.

Today a church, a school that has collapsed, and a cemetery are all that remain of the main structures. Various residences are located around the area.

Geography Edit

North of Sherman is Hanson Harbor and Rantz. Creston and Wilbur are to the south.
